Enjoy Brown County!!

In the fall of 2013 a team of graduate students from the IU Kelley School of Business Field Studies class conducted a tourism assessment of Brown County in an effort to document the natural, historical, cultural, and wellness-related resources available in this area.  These resources are readily available to local Brown Countians and visitors to the area.

The information in the assessment is categorized as a heritage-related or wellness-related resource and each listing has a brief description, phone number, address, and website (if available).  In this guide you'll find listings for fine art galleries and studios, a variety of artisans such as potters, weavers, and quilters to name just a few.  Additionally, there are listings for attractions and businesses that support overall wellness such as hiking, biking, horseback-riding, swimming, yoga, etc.

This project would not have been possible without the support of the Brown County League of Women Voters. In 2011, the League sponsored three community conversations on wellness and heritage tourism and from those conversations it be came apparent that Brown County has a wealth of resources available to the local community and visitors. The League felt that it was important to identify and document these resources and that led to this partnership with the Kelley School graduate students.
